For us, Morocco was more than a destination.  It was a passage through memory, silence, and signal. This page is home to a growing series of meditative films created during a journey I took with my two daughters, Jane and AliX, in search of something deeper: a connection to the desert that runs through our lineage.
 

As part of NOMADslow.tv’s Origins series, our trip through Morocco carries personal weight. A recent discovery revealed that I carry ancestral blood from Northern Africa, a thread that runs through the Sahara Desert, across generations, and eventually to the island of Rhodes where my known family history begins. This series is my way of tracing that thread backward, not only for myself, but for my daughters, to let them feel the desert’s gravity and grace, and to create their own connection to this place of stillness and power.
 

The first film in this series, Marrakech: Frequencies of Faith, captures the rooftop rhythms and spiritual air of Morocco’s most iconic city during Ramadan, seen from above and heard from within. As the series unfolds, future episodes will follow our slow movement through Aït Benhaddou, the Draa Valley, and into the Sahara through M’hamid, before returning north along the Atlantic coast from Agadir to Essaouira, a full circle of land, light, and longing.
 

As always, the journey is wrapped in the layered, atmospheric soundscape of ANTENNAE, whose music becomes the voice of the landscape itself.

We invite you to walk through Morocco with us, slowly, silently, and maybe, somewhere between sand and signal, you’ll hear something calling you home.
